Clinton Christopher Mayo
May 6th, 1951 - April 14th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved father,
Clinton Mayo, who left us on April 14th at the age of 73. A proud Army veteran, a devoted
father, and the kind of man who could find humor in just about anything, Clinton leaves
behind a legacy that can’t be measured in years but in love, laughter, and memories.
Clinton answered the call to serve his country with honor and integrity as a member of the
United States Army. His time in the service shaped his unwavering sense of duty, his
perseverance, and his lifelong respect for camaraderie and sacrifice.
Above all, Clinton was a family man. If you asked him what his greatest accomplishment was, he wouldn’t hesitate and say his family. He met his wife, Vidma Mayo, in Miami, where they
dated shortly before embarking on a 46-year marriage. Being a father was the role he
cherished most. He poured his heart into loving and raising his children and continuing that
love for his grandchildren. Whether it was weekend morning breakfast, afternoon talks on
the porch, or a helping hand, he was always there with advice and unconditional love.
His sense of humor was legendary. With a quick wit and a knack for perfect timing, he had a gift for making people laugh often when they needed it most. His jokes, whether groan-
worthy puns or perfectly-timed one-liners, brought a smile and light into the lives of
everyone around him.
Clinton leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his wife Vidma Mayo, children Vanessa and Michael Urick, Irene Martin, Jason and Heather Mayo, and
grandchildren Jason Torres, Aaron Torres, Samuel Torres, Russell Bocker, and Lily Mayo, who will continue to carry his spirit in their hearts and actions.
Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the life he lived and the immeasurable impact he had on all of us. A service will be held on April 25th at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors to commemorate his service to this country. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Clinton’s memory to Wounded Warrior Project or Fisher House Foundation.
Rest easy, Dad. We’ll miss your laugh, your stories, and your loving presence but most of all, we’ll miss you. Thank you for everything. We love you forever.
