Shirley J. Curry
January 19th, 1936 - April 14th, 2025
We are saddened to announce the passing of Shirley J. Curry at 89 years young on April 14, 2025.
Born to Ralph & Cecile Eames on January 19, 1936, she married the love of her life Robert D. Curry on June 25, 1955. They enjoyed 57 years together before the passing of her beloved Bob on March 4, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Stephan (Luanne) Curry, her granddaughter, Rebecca Curry, her grandsons, Lance (Emily) Curry and Andrew Curry, and her great-granddaughters, Addison and Annabelle Curry, her sister-in-law Karel Eames and several nieces and nephews. Plus, we can’t forget her beloved cat, Nora.
Shirley’s happiest moments were time spent with her family & friends, gardening, mailing out cards and notes to people and volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society in Jacksonville, FL and Pawmetto Lifeline in Columbia, SC. She spent many happy hours playing with the cats.
Her family thanks Heart of Hospice for their wonderful care of Shirley over the past 17 months, especially Kelcey and Jalayna. They always brightened her day when they were with her.
The family is hosting a Celebration of Life Open House on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. It will be at the home of Steve & Luanne Curry, 2760 Naples Pass
West Columbia, SC 29170.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Pawmetto Lifeline 1275 Bower Parkway, Columbia, SC 29212.
