Betty Jean Brown Adams, beloved mom, Mema and great grandmother, peacefully departed this life on April 19, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever be cherished. Friends and family are invited to honor Betty's memory during a visitation on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral Service on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Northside Baptist Church, located at 1013 Carl Vinson Parkway, Centerville, Georgia. Interment will follow immediately at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Aaron Lee Adams.
Born on May 29, 1934, in Ashburn, Georgia to the late James A. Brown and Gladys E. Nutt Brown, Betty dedicated 32 years of her life to serving as a Secretary at Northside Baptist Church, where she made a significant impact in her community. Her commitment to faith was evident through her active involvement in teaching women's Bible study and leading Sunday School classes. She was not only a devoted church member but also a culinary enthusiast and a skilled seamstress, using her talents to serve others with warmth and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Aaron Lee Adams, and her sons, Danny Lee Adams and Timothy Alan Adams, along with their wives, Deborah and Cindy, and her cherished son-in-law, Phillip Vaughn. Betty is survived by her daughters, Angie Vaughn and Pam (Don) Moncrief; her sister-in-law and dear friend, Audie Mae Thomasson; and a loving assortment of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought great joy and pride to her life. Her legacy echoes in the lives of Amanda (Joey) Taylor, Brandon (Ester) Adams, Cameron (Paige) Vaughn, Kristin Vaughn, Jeremy Moncrief, Josh Moncrief, Angela (Michael) Ramey, Ace Moncrief, and Brandy (David) Fullmore, as well as her great-grandchildren: Dakota Taylor, Noah Taylor, and Annabelle Taylor; Bryson Vaughn; Caleb Moncrief, Aaron Moncrief; Adria Ramey, Dylan Ramey; Niko Adams, Zarina Adams; Jaxson Fullmore, Alana Fullmore, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In this time of sorrow, we celebrate the beautiful life of Betty Jean Brown Adams, whose spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Gideon Bible in memory of her.
