Harry "Hank" James Batts, III
September 22nd, 1949 - April 18th, 2025
Harry "Hank" James Batts, III, 75, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1949, in Louisville, KY, to the late Harry James Batts, Jr., and Molly Batts.
A graduate of Tates Creek High School, Hank spent four years in the United States Navy, and retired as a technician at Kentucky Educational Television. He was a devoted member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Nicholasville, KY. After retirement he spent many hours planting and tending to the trees in the Squire Oak Neighborhood Park. He loved classical music, dogs and cats, and target shooting.
He is survived by his wife Sara "Sally" Young; son Jeff (Anastasiia) Cornelison; grandchildren Haleigh, Ryan and Trey Cornelison; and two brothers, Daniel Batts and Christopher (Dorothy Cordray) Batts. Special thanks to the caregivers at Cedarhurst Nicholasville for their devoted care.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, Nicholasville, KY, at noon on Wednesday, April 30. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Lexington Humane Society, Woodford Humane Society, or Bluegrass Care Navigators.
