December 31st, 1922 - April 18th, 2025
Mary G. Donohue died peacefully at the age of 102 on Good Friday, April 18, 2025 in Oroville, CA. with her daughter Mary by her side. Mary was born on December 31, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA to Charles J. and Gertrude (Quinn) McAllister. She lived in Latrobe, PA and Washington D.C. before moving to San Francisco during WWII. On a blind date she met John Thomas Donohue, a handsome Marine, and they were married on June 9, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Francisco. Mary was the mother of ten children. Above all, Mary was a devout Catholic. She never missed Sunday Mass until she became homebound in her 90’s. When she traveled, the first thing she did was find the nearest Catholic church so she could attend Sunday Mass. She prayed the rosary daily. She was always an active parishioner, most recently at Our Lady of the Mountain in Ashland, OR and St. Thomas the Apostle in Oroville, CA. Mary was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, siblings: Virginia Fitzpatrick, Anita, Charles, Joseph, and Dennis McAllister, her daughter, Noreen Donohue, son-in-law Walter Bullock and granddaughter Amy (Bullock) London. She is survived by her children: Kathleen Bullock, Laurie (Allan Smith), John (Jen), Michael, Kevin, Matthew (Robin), Tim, Mary (Clark) Masters and Patty Donohue. Grandchildren: Patrick (Robyn) Bullock, Mary (Jay) Longfellow, Alison Smith (Eric Knutson), Jake and Luke (Lee) Marshall, Maegan (Brandon) Baker, Mary Crissy Donohue (Joel Torrison), Kaetlyn Molesworth and Sean Kidd.
