In Loving Memory
Charles “Gene” Eugene Owens, II, 57, of Columbia, SC, passed away on April 21, 2025. He was born on December 3, 1967, to the late Charles Eugene and Lillian Elizabeth Owens of Sandy Run, SC. He was greatly loved by his family and all who knew him.
Gene was a wizard with all things technology related and enjoyed his work at Lohman Communication using that knowledge. He loved music and playing guitar with his nephews. He had taken up golf and enjoyed playing with his sister Kitty in their APG golf group.
He is survived by his sisters, Kitty Brown of Columbia, SC, LaNita (Skeeter) Geddings Johnny) of Sandy Run, SC, his fiancé Kellie Hill of Gaston, SC; nephews and nieces, Jeremy Norris (Melody), Joshua Hendrix (Justine), Jordan Frye (Shane), Nicholas Hoover, Joni Williams, numerous great nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle Bean”, and his “brother” Chris Kollmann.
Gene was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Libby Owens and his sisters, Debbie Hoover and Dona Hendrix Moore.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:00 am at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
