Peter Glenn Blamey passed away unexpectedly on April 14, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on March 7, 1945, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Glenn and Alice Blamey. In 1959, his family relocated to Tucson, where he would reside thereafter.

After graduating from Rincon High School, Pete enlisted in the Air Force. Upon completing his active duty service, he continued to serve in the Tucson Air National Guard through retirement.

Pete was employed in the grocery business by Bayless where he quickly ascended through the management ranks. In time, choosing to follow his desire to be in business for himself, he purchased a gas station and would go on to eventually own many others.

He had a passion for car racing as a spectator as well as a team owner/driver. Pete competed locally in dirt track racing at Corona Speedway and other tracks around the state with great success as evidenced by his trophy collection. In time, he obtained his professional racing certification and competed in SCCA sanctioned GTI Cup Road Racing throughout the US.

Pete enjoyed fishing and traveling. He regularly participated in both leisure and tournament fishing in Cholla Bay, Mexico, where he maintained a second home, and Kona, Hawaii. He traveled extensively throughout the US and beyond, including trips to Africa, Europe, Australia, Iceland, Caribbean, Belize, Mexico and all of the Pacific Southwest.

He met his wife, Debra, in Rocky Point, Mexico, and they bonded over their shared love of fast cars, travel and coastal shores. He adored her and although she was a traveler when they met, Pete showed her much of the world she had never seen and then some.

Pete had a great sense of humor and cared about his friends and family deeply. He loved Westerns and chocolate and taking his many Collies for long walks in his neighborhood over the years. His neighbors and fellow dog owners adored their long chats that inevitably happened during those walks.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steven. He is survived by his wife, Debra, his sister, Nancy, his step-daughter and grandson, Juli and Aden Rothstein, newly adopted Collie puppy, Kona, and his many friends in Tucson and Cholla Bay.

There will be no public service per Pete's request. He will be laid to rest in the waters of Kona, Hawaii, at a later date.
