Helen C. Begley, age 94 of Weber City, VA, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Helen was born on July 15, 1930, in Fort Blackmore, VA to Henry and Mary Dorton. Helen married Fred Raymond Begley, and after a beautiful life together, he preceded her in death in 1998.
Helen enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and doing yardwork. She was a charter member of Holston View Methodist Church and the joy she brought to everyone is immeasurable.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Fred Raymond Begley; one brother, Howard Dorton; and three sisters, Hattie Barnett, Thelma Wheatley, and Nannie Mann. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Patty Sampson and husband, Roger, and Debbie Trivett and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Lori Bold and husband, Louie, Heather Calton and husband, Trevor, Adam Sampson and wife, Holly, and Amanda Trivett and fiancé Matt Flanary; great grandchildren, Brayden Bold, Emma Sampson, Olivia Calton, and Landon Calton; special niece, Mary Sanders; caregiver, Teressa House, and many loving nieces, nephews, and family members.
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff at Caris Hospice for their loving care that they provided Helen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or Shriners Hospitals for Children at https://donate.lovetotherescue.org
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. A graveside will be conducted at 3:00 pm at Holston View Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Tate officiating. Adam Sampson, Brayden Bold, Landon Calton, Trevor Calton, Tucker Begley, and Matt Flanary will be serving as pallbearers.
