JANET NESBITT
March 6th, 1934 - April 24th, 2025
Janet Nesbitt was an amazing person.
Born in Sac City, Iowa, March 6, 1934, Janet (Pilcher) Nesbitt passed away April 24, 2025, in Tualatin, Oregon. She leaves behind her husband of 72 years, Bob Nesbitt; son Mike Nesbitt of Marcola, Oregon, daughter Debbie Imus (husband: Greg) of Tualatin, Oregon; and daughter Becky Barnes of Apex, North Carolina. She also had 2 grandchildren in Oregon: Karly Imus (husband Tim Brown; children Sam, Lily and Eloise); Brian Imus (wife Ashely; children: Logan, Rayne, and Addy); and two grandchildren in North Carolina: David Barnes (wife: Laura; children; Graham and Ava); Kaitlin Jenkins (husband: Tyler; children Wyatt and Harper). Janet was blessed with 10 great grandchildren and a lifetime of fond memories with friends and family who appreciated the way Janet lived with zest, flair, and an energy that were both inspiring and amazing.
Janet met Bob in Urbandale, Iowa. She captured his heart, and the couple married in 1952. They started out life in El Paso, Texas, where Bob was serving in the military. Son Mike was born in Texas. When Bob completed his military service, the couple moved to Lebanon, Oregon where they welcomed their two daughters. Over the years, they also made their home in San Jose, California as well as the Oregon cities of Eugene, Bend, LaPine and Tigard. For many years, Janet owned and operated Janet’s Dance Studio in Eugene, where she trained hundreds of young dancers and staged memorable and entertaining dance recitals.
Janet enjoyed spending time with her Parents, Bob and Vivian Pilcher, at their farm in Prineville, Oregon. Janet’s immediate and extended families were the primary driving force in her life. Plus, she has scores of friends who were like family to her. In her spare time, Janet loved antiquing with her Questers Club, gardening, cooking, camping, crafting, her dogs, playing cards and games. Janet squeezed a whole lot of living into each day and filled plenty of rooms with joy and laughter.
Her parents as well as her younger brother, Ray, and younger sister, Paula, have preceded Janet in death.
Janet’s last few years were spent at Jurgens Park Senior Living, where her personality made her a favorite among staff and residents alike. Her big heart and even bigger personality will be missed by her loved ones.
Janet’s family is planning an informal, outdoor celebration of life later in the summer. This fits her love for the outdoors. She will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
Janet Nesbitt was an amazing person.
