Arlinda Jean Coffel passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, April 19, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.  She was 55.  Arlinda was born on August 7, 1969 in Potosi, Missouri to Janet Sue Stange and the late Dane Nash. She is survived by her beloved husband Jason; their two children, Jillian Brooks and Eric Coffel; her two grandchildren, Rowan Marie Brunson and Ivy Jean Brooks; her mother, Janet Sue Burnette; her four sisters Dawn Marie (Joseph) VanVactor, Angela Lynn Ward, Amber Rose (Joshua) Widener and Erin Leigh (James) Ratty; and several cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her step-father, James Richard Burnette, and her niece, Savannah Grace VanVactor.

Those who knew Arlinda will remember her overwhelming love for her children and grandchildren. She poured her heart and soul into them — they were always her first priority and greatest joy. But the truest love of her life was her husband, Jason. They spent 30 beautiful years together, and she would quickly tell anyone that he was her best friend and the absolute love of her life.

She also leaves behind her dear mother and her adoring sisters, affectionately known as her “Ya-Yas.” Every month, Arlinda, her mother, and her sisters would gather around the kitchen table for long conversations — talking, laughing, crying, and sometimes declaring, “I’m not gonna cry” when tender topics came up. They shared countless craft shows and lunches at Vickery’s on Shem Creek. "Ya-Ya Days" will never be the same without her.

Arlinda was truly a character — unforgettable in every way. Her knowledge of mid-century modern design was astonishing; she could instantly tell you when, where, and by whom a piece of furniture or a piece of glassware was made. Her mind was a steel trap, effortlessly recalling people, dates, and details that amazed everyone around her. The family often spoke of “Arlinda logic,” her unique and insightful way of viewing the world. She had an incredible ability to read people, always seeking out and focusing on their best qualities. She also had a lifelong love for The Real Housewives series and was a devoted fan of Stephen King novels — never missing the latest book or episode.

Among her many passions, one of Arlinda’s favorites was her Jeep, Péle. She wasn’t just a Jeeper — she was a true lover of all things hot rod. She could often be seen around Summerville, visiting thrift stores, the Dollar Tree, or just driving with the doors off, the wind in her hair, and Pantera or Foo Fighters blasting from the speakers.

The world is a little less colorful without Arlinda in it. Her bright spirit, boundless energy, and fierce love left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.  But to have known her in her lifetime, was to love her, and being loved BY her was an absolute blessing.

There will be no formal service but instead, her family will honor her life with a Celebration of Life gathering in August. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
