Janice Elaine (Meeker) Roemish went home to be with the Lord March 2, 2025, surrounded by her family in Lakewood, Colorado. She was 89 years old. Janice is survived by her husband Bill, her daughter Linda Pangle (Matt and daughters Danielle, Jerica, and Tana), her daughter Sonja Predovich, her son Mark Roemish, and her grandchildren Ethan, Emily, and Nadia Predovich.
Janice (Jan) Meeker was born May 30, 1935, in Lockport, New York, to Samuel Augustus Meeker and Mildred Emma (Ziehl) Meeker. She had an older sister, Shirley. Not long after Janice was born, the family moved from Lockport to North Tonawanda, then to Binghamton, New York. Janice attended East Junior High School and Binghamton North High School. After high school, she studied at Bryan College in Tennessee. She then earned her RN from Binghamton General Hospital. After working in New York, she attended the University of Rochester, where she earned her BS in Nursing.
Jan and Bill worked together during the summer at the Word of Life Camp at Schroon Lake in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. They started dating when they were 23 years old. They were married June 11, 1960, at Calvary Baptist Church in Binghamton.
Shortly after being married, Jan and Bill moved to Denver, Colorado, where Jan worked as a nurse. She especially enjoyed working with newborns. She then had three children of her own.
Jan spent many years as a homemaker, supporting her husband and children in a variety of activities. She was also an accomplished pianist, a receptionist for a local photographer, leader of a neighborhood women's Bible study, and active in her church (where she became well-known as a greeter and for providing delicious homemade chocolate chip happy birthday cookies). Jan also summited a total of 25 different Colorado 14,000-foot peaks, and she and Bill danced for several years with the Square Halos club.
A celebration of Janice’s life will be held at Grace Fellowship of Lakewood (9210 W 2nd Ave, Lakewood, CO) Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
