Zachary Alan Womack passed from his earthly body following a difficult battle with cancer in the early hours of Friday, April 18, 2025—on a snowy Good Friday. He was surrounded by love in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his mother, father, wife, daughter, family, and his cherished friend by his side.

Zach was born on October 11, 1991, in Monroe, Louisiana, and from an early age, he displayed a wisdom beyond his years. He quickly became the light of his family, the first male grandchild, and a precious soul to all who knew him.

Zach is survived by his beloved wife, Cristin Pumphery Womack; his children, Lorayna Taylor and Vincent Curtis; his mother, Faith Smith; his father, Mark (Stephannie) Womack; his siblings, Todd (Faith Sharp) Lenard Jr., and Somer Porter; and his paternal grandparents, LY “Bud” and Nancy Womack. Also mourning his loss are his aunts, Teresa (Julie) Boggan-Smith and Renee (Thomas) Kent; his cousins, Misty (Nathan) Redding, Brandon Kent, and Joy (Marc) Bowie; his in-laws, Connie and Scott (Theresa) Pumphery, and sister-in-law, Chaney Pounders; along with many extended family members and lifelong friends.

Zach was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where he grew to love the Lord. He graduated from West Ouachita High School in 2010 and attended nursing school at ULM before realizing his heart was called to a different path—working with his hands. He pursued a career full of adventure and challenge, working on wind turbines, cell towers, and any job that would push his skills and knowledge. Eventually, he launched his own successful business, Hungry Works Construction, in Colorado Springs. Zach was a man of many talents and passions. He loved playing music, woodworking, learning new skills, and spending time outdoors—especially camping, hiking, biking, and off-roading in his 4WD truck. He was a devoted supporter of his cousin Brandon’s racing career, often offering his trademark humor and sarcasm from the sidelines. One of Zach’s greatest joys in life was being a father. The birth of his son, Vincent, changed his world and set him on a mission to become the best dad he could be. Later, he found his true love in Cristin, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their precious daughter, Lorayna. Zach loved coming home to his wife and his "Boogie" and longed for every moment he could spend with Vincent and Lorayna.

Zach was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie and Wanda Smith, and his cousin, Jessica Heard.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Katie Mathus, whom Zach loved dearly. Her devotion and care in his final weeks meant the world to him and to all who loved him. Psalms 27:1-5

Arrangements are pending at this time under the direction The Springs Funeral Services of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A memorial service will be held in West Monroe, Louisiana, time is underdetermined.
