Loving and generous father, brother, uncle, and son....

Kendall (Ken) Valen Kramer died on April 21, 2025, after a short bout of cancer.  He was 65 years old.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and by brother-in-law, Tony Matthews.

Ken was born in Tacoma, Washington, on February 24, 1960, to Marilyn and Valen Kramer, the youngest of four children, and lived in Tacoma and University Place nearly all his life.  He graduated from Curtis High School, attended Pierce Community College, and married Anna Bailey in 1981.  They entered the United States Air Force where he served for six years, two years in Greece, and four years in Spokane.  He and Anna divorced, and after the USAF he attended the University of Puget Sound where he graduated with a degree in computer science.  In 1989 he and Janice Macomber married.  They had two children, Kyle and Caitlin.  Ken and Janice ran Pizza Answer for several years.  Later they divorced and Ken went to work for the Russell Investments.  He worked in IT for them for more than 20 years.

Ken was a loving and generous father, brother, uncle, and son; family was important to him.  He is survived by his children, Caitlin and Kyle, Kyle’s wife Jeneé, and their three children, Lilianna, Kyson, and Marianna, his sisters, Gay Kramer-Dodd (Tom), Laurie Drage (Steve), and Kerin Matthews, as well as six nieces and nephews, Matthew and Patrick Dodd, Irene and Sara Drage, and Heather and Ian Matthews, a great niece and two great nephews, as well as his close friends.  He had a wicked sense of humor and was always able to make us laugh.

A VA service will be held for Ken at 9 AM on May 16 at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
