It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dwight Clark, loving husband, father, brother, and friend, on April 26, 2025. Dwight was born in February 1942 in Council Bluffs, IA, to Alfred and Edith Clark and was the oldest of 11 children. Shortly after graduating from Loveland High School in 1960, he met his future wife, Suzanne Tilger, at a local ice cream shop where she worked.

Dwight and Sue married in May of 1961 and soon started a family including their daughter Carolyn, a son Matthew, and daughter Samantha. Dwight and Sue lived in Loveland for most of their married lives until building a home in Wellington, Colorado.

Although Dwight spent a few years as a carpenter and over-the-road truck driver, he eventually returned to his first love, the timber logging business, spending most of his life in the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming. Dwight was known as a hardworking and honest man who took great care to leave the woods in pristine condition when he completed a job.

At their home in Wellington, Dwight found a love for raising cattle. His cows were always spoiled and well-fed and they returned the favor by providing him with beautiful calves every spring. Dwight enjoyed having his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren around and could often be seen grinning ear-to-ear, driving happy little ones around in his John Deere Gator.

Dwight was a neighbor you could call on, day or night. As an expert machinery operator, he ensured neighborhood roads were plowed in the winter and graded in the summer. He happily volunteered to help family, friends, and neighbors whenever needed.

Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Suzanne, and his children, Carolyn Johnston, Matthew (Patricia) Clark, and Samantha (Chuck) Booton. He was a cherished grandfather to Chad (Melissa) Johnston, Brent Johnston, Allison (Ted) Berkompas, Raelene (Trevor) Harvey, Victoria (Kent) Bakker, Madison Booton, and Alexandra Booton. He adored each one of his 12 (soon to be 13) great-grandchildren. Dwight was preceded in death by his beloved son-in-law Timothy Johnston, his parents, and two siblings.
