Sheryl Elaine Linet was born in Hartford, CT to Freda Sack Linet and William (Bill) Linet. She attended Conard High School in West Hartford, where she made and kept several life-long friends. She graduated from Southern Connecticut University where she studied education. After college, Sheryl became a kindergarten teacher, a job she loved.Sheryl was the loving mother of her two children: Adam and Rebecca.  As a mom, Sheryl doted on her kids and installed in them a life-long love of sports, cards, and family.

    In 1988, Sheryl met the love of her life, her husband Alan Sachs. Sheryl and Alan moved to Las Vegas after the kids were in college; where they made a life together, working and socializing with friends.

Sheryl's athletic claim to fame is that she made a hole in one! A lifelong Mahjong player she continued to play a few times a week even during this last year. Over the years, Alan inspired Sheryl to see the world. The two of them created an enviable set of passports, both in countries visited, and affection and dedication to each other. Sheryl enjoyed getting to know and loving her daughter-in-law, Diane, and her son-in-law, Brian;           Sheryl loved her dogs Harry, Patches, Baby, Zoe, and Bailey.

    In her final chapter, Sheryl was a loving and dynamic Bubbie to her grandson Otis. Early on in the pandemic, she would check out books from the library and read them to him on FaceTime. On her last visit with Otis - even on a walker - Sheryl showed Otis Red Rock National Park and a state park with dinosaur fossils.

    Sheryl loved many people and they in return loved her very much She will be missed more than we can say.      

    Sheryl was laid to rest at the Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Monday, May 12.
