Terry L. Bland

Terry Bland passed away at his home in Holly Lake Ranch, Texas on April 8, 2025. Terry was born in Concordia, Kansas on October 25, 1945. He received his early education in Kansas and Nebraska. His family moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1955 and continued his education in the Loveland schools, graduating with the class of 1965.  In high school he was accomplished in football, wrestling and track. Terry attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Colorado graduating in 1970. He was offered a teaching and coaching job at Westminster High School in Denver, Colorado. After teaching and coaching he held various jobs in several different cities before moving to Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. There he and a friend owned and operated a local feed store in Hawkins Texas. When the feed store was sold Terry drove school bus number 109 in Gilmer, Texas up to the time of his death. He was loved and respected by his co-workers, the students and their parents. Preceding him in death were his parents, Rex Bland and Florence Bland Kratzer, brothers Bob McGuire and Ron Bland. He is survived by his nephews Terry (Kelly) Bland of Sturgis, South Dakota, Tim Bland of Loveland, Colorado, great nephews, Dalton (Celeste) Bland of Pierce, Colorado, Wade Bland of Loveland, Colorado, Dillon Bland of Loveland, Colorado and Sister-in-Law Teresa Bland of Loveland, Colorado. He is also survived by Mattixx Garner of Winnsboro, Texas and considered him his step son.  A Memorial celebration was held at the bus garage in Gilmer, Texas on April 24, 2025. Arrangements are pending for A celebration of Life to be held at a later date in Loveland Colorado. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions can be made to Vieguit Funeral home in Memory of Terry L. Bland.
