Roger Harvey Vezina

Mr. Roger Harvey Vezina, age 87, a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Vezina was born November 5, 1937, in Sanford, Maine to Aurel and Mathilda (Perreault) Vezina. He was an Auburndale resident since 2003 coming from Kings Bay, Georgia. Roger was a United States Army Veteran, Sanford volunteer firefighter and a member of the Elks Club in Maine, Georgia and Florida. Roger was a master metal worker and worked at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kings Bay, Georgia United States Naval shipyards for most of his career. He was a huge sports fan of the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers being his favorite professional teams. He was also a big supporter of Notre Dame football and usually wore a hat with their logo. Roger enjoyed deer hunting in Maine with his son Shawn and friends. He also enjoyed RVing with his family and traveling to NASCAR races with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife – Jackie and 2 sisters – Gertrude Kerrigan & Rita Richard. Roger is survived by his family, 2 sons – Todd Vezina and wife Suzanne of Wendell, North Carolina & Shawn Vezina of Shapleigh, Maine; 1 sister – Constance Heald of Port St. Lucie, Florida; 3 grandchildren – Jordan, Morgan & Colby and 1 great grandson – Tucker. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, May 31st at Kersey Funeral Home.
