Lori Jean Etchison
December 11th, 1961 - April 10th, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lori Jean Etchison, 63 years old. On April 10th, 2025, she passed away at home in Vail, Arizona, due to natural causes. Lori touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit.
Lori was born in Denver, Colorado to parents Wyland Louis Etchison and Judy Ann Etchison (Sorenson). She grew up and shared many memories with her siblings, Gerry Etchison (passed), Lisa Orvin (Etchison), and Rodney Etchison.
Lori proudly served her country and was honorably discharged from the Army. She then dedicated her time to becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse and spent seven years selflessly caring for veterans at the VA Medical Center, a role that not only reflected her commitment to service, but also her profound love for others. She retired from LifeCare Centers of Tucson. Her experience inspired countless stories, often shared with her children over the dinner table, both to entertain and to see the shock on their faces – a testament to her playful side.
Above all, Lori was a devoted mother who took immense pride in her family. She cherished her three children, Terrell Strong (Allen), Alexis Allen, and Troy Allen II, with her ex-husband of 19 years, Troy Allen Sr, whom she always remembered as the love of her life. Lori created numerous fond memories through their family vacations, exploring remarkable places such as the Grand Canyon, South Dakota’s Black Hills, and Denver, Colorado.
Her strength was evident throughout her life as she navigated a world of prejudice, remaining unwaveringly proud of her family and fiercely defending her choices. Lori is remembered as a selfless woman who would go above and beyond for those she loved. Her legacy lies in the laughter she shared, the warmth she exuded, and the love she cultivated within her family.
As we grieve the loss of Lori, let us also celebrate the vibrant life she led, as well as the mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched along her journey.
Lori is survived by her three children: Terell Strong (Allen), Alexis Allen, and Troy Allen II, and her grandchildren: Anisah Brown (Arizona), Steven Brown (Arizona), Brianna Strong (Missouri), Brice Strong (Missouri), Malcolm Woolfolk (Arizona), Eli Wilson (Arizona), Tyrone Allen (Arizona), and Trevor Allen (Colorado).
Please send condolences to Alexis Allen.
