"Absent from the body, present with the Lord"
On April 27, 2025, Nancy Snelling Borkert went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, at age 94 in Colorado Springs, CO. Nancy was born in Phoenix, AZ, August 22, 1930, to John Roy and Anna Jeanette Snelling. She was married to John J. Borkert on January 21,1949. During her lifetime, they lived throughout the Southwest.
A homemaker and community volunteer, Nancy enjoyed gardening, bird watching, rock hunting, and writing vignettes of life and travel with her husband. She was active in First Christian churches wherever they lived.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Borkert; son, Steven Borkert; and grandson, Charles Anthony Borkert.
She is survived by four sons: Charles (Penny) Borkert of Adkins, TX; Jay (Debra) Borkert of Colorado Springs, CO; Cary (Yvette) Borkert of Christiansburg, VA; Daniel (Marne) Borkert of Dunnellson, FL; 16 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren.
Her greatest joy was being the “matriarch of the amazing Borkert clan.”
A celebration of life for Nancy will be held Monday, May 12 at 10:30 at Nor’wood Bible Church, 5865 Templeton Gap Rd. 80923. Interment will follow immediately at Evergreen Cemetery.
