Kathryn Marie Ray, age 75, of Church Hill, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Kingsport, TN on March 31, 1950, to Echol and Mae Head. Kathryn was a lifelong resident of the Sensabaugh Hollow Community. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed helping others. Kathryn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her “baby” Rowdy was the highlight of her life.
In addition to her parents Kathryn is preceded in death by her son Daniel Ray; sister Phyllis “Bitty” Tipton.
She is survived by her loving husband John Skeens; children Marsha (Marty) Hurd, Jason (Alisha) Ray, Jeannie Bowman; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Echol (Gene) Head; sisters Shelby Hawkins, Judy Wallen, Donna (Faye) Holloway; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 2pm at Ross Campground Cemetery with Rev. Danny Sykes officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to arrive at the cemetery at 1:50pm.
