Judith (Judy) Suzette Poulson of Parker, CO passed away April 26th, 2025 at the age of 85. She was born May 1st, 1939 in Youngstown, OH, to John and Hazel Vrabel.

Judy grew up in Hubbard, OH, and graduated from Hubbard High School. She went on to graduate with a BS in Education from Youngstown State University. She met her husband, John (who was also from Hubbard, OH) at their respective best friends' Jan and Fred Anderson's wedding. In 1965 they moved to Colorado to start a new chapter in life with their 2 children, ages 2 and 1 with their last one being born here.

She spent her first years in Colorado as a stay-at-home mom but went back to school and graduated with a Master's degree in Education in 1970 from UNC. She taught middle school at Aurora Public Schools for the learning disabled but, after a short while, decided to run for and became president of the Aurora Schools Teachers Union. After a successful presidency, she became a school administrator for Aurora Public Schools.

Judy is mostly remembered for her volunteer work, where she led the Parker Relay for Life for many years, was a Colorado 7News Hero for her work at the Sky Ridge Cancer Center, and volunteered at the Ave Maria Funeral Services. She was always looking for any way she could help in the community or the church.

She is survived by her husband, John Poulson, along with her children, Michael and Lisa Poulson, Eric and Ninette Poulson, and Amy and Malcom Trinkaus. Her grandchildren include Kayla Poulson, Alexander Poulson, Mathias Trinkaus, Kaitlin Trinkaus-Johnson, and Shayna Rine. Great grandchildren include Caynen, Saylor, Damen, Marcus, Phoebe, and Jason. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, Corinne Jacobs and John Vrabel, from her hometown of Hubbard, OH.

Services will be at Ave Maria Catholic Church on Wednesday May 7th. There will be a rosary at 10:30am, and Mass will start at 11:00am. Memorial donation suggestions are to any of the many Alzheimer's nonprofits that are available, but we found that the Alzheimer's Association at https://donorservices.alz.org to be the most effective.

Thank you to Optimal Hospice for making Judy's last moments on earth to be as comfortable as possible and providing the family the ongoing support they needed. Also to the staff of Terra Bluff's memory care for helping her and John through this difficult time.
