Martin "Marty" Reid Dugan
April 13th, 1952 - April 26th, 2025
LOVED – MISSED – AND REMEMBERED - ALWAYS
It is with profound heartbreak that we announce the passing of Martin Reid Dugan, a deeply loved son, brother, husband, father, grandpa and friend.
“Marty” was born on April 13, 1952, in Lakewood, Ohio, and passed away April 26, 2025, in Indian Harbour Beach, FL. with his loved ones by his side. Marty is survived by his son Jeff Dedrick (Kelly), daughter Kelly Dugan, stepdaughter Rose Hudson (Megan) and stepson Michael Dedrick. He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Dickie, Tom Dugan (Mimi) and Trish Dugan.
Marty was a proud grandpa to 11 grandchildren and a fun uncle to 6 nieces and nephews and great-uncle to 13 more!
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith “Edie” Dugan, parents Martin and Beverly Dugan, brother Daniel Dugan, niece Chantele Dugan and brother-in-law Tom Dickie.
A graduate of West Islip High School, Class of 1970, in Long Island, N.Y. and Valencia Community College in Orlando, FL. Marty’s professional career in Pest Management and Horticulture at Walt Disney World expanded over 40 years. He retired in 2018 to enjoy as much fishing and boating as he could. The Florida Keys were his favorite playground.
A handsome, larger than life, laugh till you cry kind of guy, his BS and brilliance infused everyone with a dash of his fun spirit. A gifted singer like his father, his harmonies were always on point.
The memories of family and friends being shared now are his many “Martyisms” like Hey Mo! Tricky hat! Wild thing! Who let the dogs out! Cowardly lion, lollipop kids and three stooges sound effects! Ungawa to pets and co-workers remember Marty Party! His storytelling kept you spellbound before you realized it was a joke. And he had a nickname and a comical comeback for everyone! Lucky us to have had his love and traveled his life journey with him. He was a man of faith, and we know Heaven just got livelier!
A celebration of life will be held to honor Marty at a later date.
