Kim Woodson

Kim Woodson was born on March 21, 1966 in Newark, NJ to her parents, Marie J. Carter and Reginald Woodson. She was given the name “Kim” by her late grandfather (Pop)  Scutter Carter. On April 26, 2025 Kim departed this life. 

Kim attended the Newark Public School system. Kim later moved to Orange, NJ in the early 1980's where she continued the rest of her education in the Orange Public School System. Kim later moved to Charlotte, NC in 1997. There she met Napoleon McInnis whom she married in 2013. 

Kim never met a stranger, she always seemed to gain another family member. Kim played a major part in everyone's life. 

Her presence brought so much happiness and joyto so many people. She was the life of the party and loved her music and dancing, along with her love for seafood. Kim was also a Dallas Cowboys fan. Kim worked as a paraprofessional at Beyond Belief Family Services in Mt. Holly, NC. Kim is preceded in death by her mother, Marie J. Woodson, her father, Reginald Woodson and sister Zakia Woodson. Kim leaves to mourn in her absence her loving husband, Napoleon Minnis, her children Rahim Woodson, Rajeedah Woodson, Rakeith Woodson, Zakia Murphy (Samuel Murphy),  Ziear McInnis, her two brothers, Gregory Carter, Steven Boatwright; her three sisters, Marie Woodson, Robin Woodson, Shaquana Woodson, 14 grandchildren, 30 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and  friends.
