Deborah Ann Balik
March 23rd, 1951 - May 3rd, 2025
On May 3, 2025 Deborah (Deb) was welcomed into her heavenly home. Born on March 23, 1951 to Raymond & Janette Vondra Dunn in Menominee, MI. Deb was a loving Sister to Jean Erion & Linda Van Der Meulen(John). She was raised in Dubuque, IA and graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School and continued her studies at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. On June 17, 1972 she married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Balik at Church of the Nativity in Dubuque, IA.
Bob & Deb lived throughout the Midwest raising their 2 children Brent(Leesa)Balik & Jill(Jason)Rogge before settling in Lincoln, NE. She was a secretary at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Admissions and Financial Aid office from 1988-2000. She continued working after relocating to Fort Collins, CO as a CNA.
Deb always had a smile on her face & always put everyone's needs ahead of her own. She was a kind & generous soul, devoted wife, loving mother & treasured friend who believed deeply in her Catholic faith. Deb loved her Nebraska Cornhuskers (GO BIG RED!) & Iowa Hawkeyes and following college football & athletics. She also enjoyed reading, arts & craft activities and chatting over coffee with friends. She always held her family & friends close to her heart.
Survivors include her 2 children-Brent(Leesa)Balik & Jill(Jason)Rogge, Sister Jean Erion, Brother In Law John Van Der Meulen, Niece Rachel(Jimmy)Guentherman, Nephew Francisco(Fran)Erion and 1 Grand Nephew Evan Guentherman. Also, countless friends she cherished she made along the way on her road through life.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Robert(Bob)Balik, her Sister Linda Van Der Meulen, her parents, her Step Father-Keith Stanton, her Father & Mother In Law Louis & Ludmilla Balik, and Brother In Law Gary Erion.
Her family will be having a private service for her.
