John Leland Brawner

John Leland Brawner, 68, passed away on May 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Frankfort, John, was born on July 15, 1956, to the late Jestus C. and Alice Gibson Brawner. John was employed by the State of Kentucky as a Property Management Analyst.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcia Waddle Brawner. He is also survived by his daughter Jena Camden (Jason); his son John Nicholas Brawner; his sister Rebekah B. Collins (Steve); his brother Philip W. Brawner; his grandchildren Jayden Camden, Jonah Camden and Jalynn Camden; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Judith B. Massey; and his brothers Jestus C. Brawner Jr, James Findley Brawner, Frankie Brawner, and Harold S. Brawner.

John (Papa) devoted his life to helping his family and friends. He never met a stranger and was loved by all that came in contact with him.

A Celebration to honor his life will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort KY.
