It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Patrick Michael Ferrigan's passing. He left us on April 18, 2025, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. To his friends, he went by Michael, or sometimes just P.M.

Born on October 22,1948, in Fresno, California, he was the son of Colleen and Douglas Ferrigan and is survived by his siblings, Maureen Ferrigan, Timothy Ferrigan and Michael Berdine of Cambridgeshire, UK. Patrick's family also includes nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  Nephews are John, Jake, and the late Dean Ferrigan, who we remember fondly after his passing in the spring of 2024.  Grandnephews and grandnieces are Patrick, Declan, Siobhan, Finn, Philomena, and Ronan Ferrigan. We eagerly await the arrival of another grandniece in May.  He always took a genuine interest in the lives of all of his nieces and nephews, celebrating their milestones and achievements and keeping in touch by phone.

A proud graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Patrick devoted his career to the medical field, working at Community Hospital of Santa Cruz, Longs Drugs, and Soledad Prison. He had a life filled with passions; he was a drummer, an orchid lover, a car collector, and a Harley owner. A lover of poetry and conversation, he enjoyed sharing his insights on medical topics. He often reminisced about his time as a stagehand at the Isle of Wight Music Festival in England on August 31,1970, where he had the unforgettable experience of working alongside legends like Jimi Hendrix, one of the last performances by the iconic artist.

Tragically, at 17, Patrick was involved in a severe accident caused by a drunk driver, which took the life of his girlfriend. Identified as a John Doe upon arrival at the emergency room, he suffered a frontal lobe injury and extensive facial reconstructive surgery, along with a broken leg requiring traction. Despite enduring a three-month hospital stay and temporary amnesia, Patrick chose to keep this chapter of his life private, never allowing it to overshadow his many accomplishments.

In recent months, Patrick faced health challenges and was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer during his hospitalization at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, where he passed away on Good Friday at 5:03 AM.

Funeral arrangements were coordinated by Benito and Azzaro in Santa Cruz. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 28, at Villa Maria del Mar Chapel, in Santa Cruz. Following the Mass, officiated by Fr. Wayne Dawson, Patrick was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park, in Santa Cruz.
