Dennis Lee Finch

Dennis Finch of Sherwood, Oregon died on Saturday, April 19th at the age of 74. Born in Montana to Kay and Connie Finch, he was raised alongside his two brothers, Larry and Robert “Bob” Finch. Dennis graduated from Powell County High School (Deer Lodge, MT, class of 1968), graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, and graduated from the Perry Technical Institute—in Yakama, WA—as an instrument technician. 

While attending Montana State, he married his high school sweetheart, Shirley. They moved to Oregon with their children after he graduated from the Perry Technical Institute. He had a 30 year career at Clean Water Services, working at both the Durham and Hillsboro facilities. 

During retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and traveling. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, especially when he had the opportunity to cook and share a meal with those around him. Often these meals included dishes he learned from his Italian family with a favorite being his spaghetti and meatballs. Attending live music and reading prolifically helped satisfy his lifelong curiosity. Many recall his gentle nature, generous spirit, bright smile, and mischievous sense of humor. 

Remembered with great love by his wife of 54 years, Shirley; son, Brian and partner, Chris; daughter, Dana and husband, Michael; grandsons, Jahrme and Elijah; brother, Larry and wife, Ruth; Uncle John and wife, Barbara; Uncle Al and wife, Sharon; cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his countless dear friends.
