Beverly Elaine Burfoot, born on May 3, 1933, in Washington, went to be with her Lord on her birthday, May 3, 2025, in Shelton, Washington, at the age of 92. Beverly’s life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and creativity, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
She was the beloved mother of four daughters: Patricia Lynn Burfoot, Susan Elaine Bennett, Bonnie Louise Sims, and Linda Marlene Kiefer. Beverly was also a proud sister to her brother, Neal Edwin Bradford, and sisters, Louraine Vinette Turner and Lela Marie Wimer. Throughout her life, she enjoyed the warmth of family gatherings, surrounded by her nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Beverly was married to George Roland Burfoot on December 30, 1948, sharing her life with him until his passing on July 13, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy Evan and Hazel Noble (Johnson) Bradford, as well as her brother Roy Evan Bradford and sister Neta Hazel Rieter.
A dedicated and hardworking individual, Beverly's career began while she raised her four daughters, working tirelessly in daycare. Her nurturing spirit carried her into employment at Gull Harbor Mercantile and later, Sue’s Stitch-In-Time quilt shop.. An alumna of Olympia High School, Beverly exemplified the strength and resilience learned at the School of Hard Knocks.
Beverly was known for her incredible talent in creating wedding cakes for family and friends, skillfully sewing beautiful quilts, knitting sweaters, and painting artwork that captured the beauty around her. She held a deep appreciation for photography, capturing moments that spoke of love and joy. Beverly cherished every camping and boating trip with her family, embracing life’s adventures with enthusiasm.
In celebrating her life, we remember Beverly not only for her many talents and accomplishments but also for her loving spirit and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, creativity, and family values will continue to inspire her children, grandchildren, and beyond.
May she rest in peace.
