Brian Keith Lais

Lifelong Amsterdam resident Brian Keith Lais, 54, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his beloved family.

Brian was born on October 5, 1970, to Linda (Catello) Howland and the late Walter R. Lais. He graduated from Amsterdam High School and afterwards attended a trade school in Albany for plumbing and heating. He obtained his certificate and went on to work various trade jobs in this field, with his most recent employment being for a local oil company.

He enjoyed going to concerts and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Brian was predeceased by his father Walter Lais; maternal and paternal grandparents; as well as his mentor Joseph Sterba.

He is survived by his loving mother Linda Howland; brothers Donald Lais, Robert Howland, and Jason Wright; several aunts and uncles; friend and roommate Larry; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Brian’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
