"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Andy Morel Murdock, a beloved husband, devoted father, proud Army veteran, and extraordinary man, who departed this world on April 29, 2025. Leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion.

Andy, served his country with honor, courage, and dignity. His years in the United States Army were marked not just by his strength and discipline, but by his deep sense of purpose and selflessness. Andy was an outstanding NCO, the kind of leader who left a lasting mark not just through his service, but through the deep, genuine care he showed for every soldier under his command. He led with heart—always the first to show up, the last to leave, and the one who noticed when someone was struggling, even when they tried to hide it. He carried the weight of his responsibilities with quiet strength, never seeking praise, only wanting to make sure his soldiers were safe, supported, and never felt alone. His mentorship went beyond duty; it was personal. He made them feel seen, heard, and valued—like they mattered beyond the uniform. Even now, I hear stories of how he impacted lives, how he lifted others up in their hardest moments. He was their leader, their protector, and their rock—and he will always be remembered that way.

As a husband, Andy was my best friend, my partner, my safe place. We shared a love that grew stronger with time — built on laughter, shared dreams, and a deep, steady trust. He stood beside me through every chapter of life, and though this new one begins without him, his love remains — in every corner of our home, in every memory we hold dear. I will keep living for him, loving for him, and honoring the incredible man he was every single day.

On behalf of the Murdock children, we ask that the next time you get the chance, go to the movies with whoever you love. Get the big popcorn, extra butter and some popcorn seasoning you brought from home. Get the big drink and maybe those nachos, too. Make a night of it. Oh, and make sure you get the good seats. Because that’s what Dad would do. Humor. Faith. And Pride. Never missing the chance to have fun. Core elements of who he was. We carry with us each a piece of him; he once said to me, “the best pieces”.

Though this world feels colder without him, we are forever grateful for the years we had, the memories we made, and the love that will continue to guide us. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and quiet strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Perla; children, Sierra Jade, Gryphon, Rayne Analia; siblings, Melissa and Kenneth, who will forever carry his memory with pride. While we mourn his absence here on Earth, we find peace in knowing he is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved mother and brother, embraced once more by the ones who went before him.

Rest in peace, Andy. You served with honor, led with heart, and loved without limits. You will never be forgotten.
