Georgetta McIntosh
July 11th, 1947 - May 6th, 2025
Georgetta (Abney) McIntosh known for being a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away surrounded by her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids on May 6th, 2025, at the home of her children in Buffalo, West Virginia from a long battle with cancer.
Born on July 11th, 1947, in Bourbon County, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Thomas Abney and Irene (Tipton) Abney. Georgetta was the definition of love and selflessness. She spent her years working in housekeeping and feeding anyone ready for a meal. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her Sunday chicken dinners and her willingness to help anyone in need.
She leaves behind her daughters, Mary Gonzales (Domingo) of AZ, Laura Daugherty (D’Wight) of WV, and her sons, Larry Smith Jr. (Rachel Martin) of WV, Daniel Davis of WV. Georgetta is also survived by her siblings: Thomas Abney of WA, Edna Romans of KY, Linda Lovings of KY, Richard Abney of KY, Robert Abney of MD, Algin Abney of KY. She was also a beloved grandmother and great grandmother to: Michael Davis of AZ, Shantha Davis (Sherman Hart) of WV, Joel Gonzales of AZ, Cheyanne Snead of IL, John Gonzales of AZ, Braxtin Smith of WV, Triztin Smith of WV, Irene Davis of CA, Ashley Davis of KY, Jacob Davis of WV, Andrew Davis of KY, Abbiegail Culwell of WV, Travis Stokley of KY.
Georgetta was preceded in death by her son Johnny Davis Jr., her father Thomas Abney, her mother Irene (Tipton) Abney, her siblings: Walter Abney, Stanley Abney, Roy Abney, Bernice Hall, and her grandson Marco Anaya Jr.
Visitation Friday, May 9th from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Clark Legacy Center, 601 E. Brannon Rd., Nicholasville, KY 40356. Graveside service also on Friday at 12:15 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2089 Versailles Rd., Lexington, KY 40504. A celebration of life gathering will take place at Clark Legacy Center on Friday starting at 1:30 p.m.
