Born on December 3, 1943, in Adair, Iowa, Tom was the second son of Oswald and Vera Davidsen. He grew up on the family farm west of Guthrie Center alongside his two brothers, Jim and Mike. Together they had two children: Kristine Lynn Davidsen and Shawn Thomas Davidsen. In 1979, he transferred to IBM’s new plant in Tucson, Arizona, and later moved to Austin, Texas in 1989.
