Lynda Nell Evans
June 27th, 1939
Lynda Nell (McDougle) Evans was born June 27, 1939, in Ventura, CA, to John McDougle and Vera (Higginbotham) McDougle.
The family moved to Oroville, CA, then to the Yuba-Sutter area where she met, fell in love with, and married Joseph Henry Evans, a basketball standout of the Yuba City High-school Honkers.
Joe and Lynda were married on August 23, 1957. Lynda was a loving wife for 65 years and is preceded in death by Joseph on October 10, 2022. The couple bore three children with three additional children by marriage.
The oldest son, Darcy Joe Evans, is married to Diane Louise (Camper) Evans, both of the Sacramento, CA, area.
Their second child was a daughter, Jo Lynn Evans, and was married to Scott Ingram of Yuba City, CA.
They both have preceded Lynda in death, but blessed the family with three grandchildren, Joseph Ingram, Jessie Lynn Ingram Barrett (Steven), and Joshua Ingram, married to Lunden Fletcher Ingram.
The third and youngest son is John Granville Evans. He was married to Deborah Gross and added two granddaughters to our growing family, Raine and Zoe.
Joseph and Joshua brought additional warmth to Lynda's heart by fathering great-granddaughters, Willow and Leighton.
Lynda was a loving wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. ~She was also a wonderful homemaker, as well as a hardworking woman with Del Monte, power washing the equipment at night and did her time working the tomato harvesters.
Lynda, her parents, brother, Gene Allen McDougle, and sister, Carol Ann Foster, were devout Christians and could be found at the Church of Christ on Sundays and Wednesdays.
A service will be held for Lynda Evans on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1 PM, at the Linda Church of Christ, 1470 Sartori Avenue, Marysville, CA 95901.
There are numerous family members and friends in the area who loved her and are going to miss her as we all are. She is now in our Lord's warm embrace after a long battle with dementia.
