Charles Leonard King, Sr.
August 18th, 1942 - May 8th, 2025
Charles Leonard King Sr. 82, of Church Hill went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2025. He was born in Kingsport to the late John and Wilma King. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 2003. Charles was an avid Vols fan and enjoyed going to games when he could. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture which was a passion he continued his entire life. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Hilda King; daughter-in-law, Toni.
Survivors include his children, Charles (Chuck) L. King Jr., John M. (Catawba) King, & Melissa (Steven) Robbins; grandchildren: Heather Teter (Todd), Amber (Teddy) Wilhoit, Ostyn, Charlsie, & Cadyn King, Dakota & Colton Robbins; great-grandchildren Brylie Neeley, Sabastian Wilhoit, Bentley, Noah, and Abigail Teter, Rosa Lee King, and Wynter King ; sister-in-law, Doris Gaw (Larry); several nieces, nephews, & cousins; special adopted grandchildren: Nick (Tiffany), Sarah, and Olivia Howard, Meghan (William) & Liam Denton, and Mikaela Howard; special family friends: Anita and Roger Howard, Judy Trapp & family.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel.
