Barbara Ann Montfort Whisman, 80, wife of Rodney Whisman, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Lexington. She was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on February 19, 1945, to the late Dallas and Edna Hammond Montfort. She was retired from Webster Heating Manufacturing.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Whisman, children, Cynthia (Jerry) Blevins, Gwyn (Modesto) Perez, Angela (Darren) Collom, Jeffrey (Poppy) Whisman, Jennifer Whisman, sisters, Bonnie Gaines, Janice Montfort, Brenda (Gary) Taulbee, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and brother-in-law, Billy (Elsie) Whisman, plus many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Austin, her brother-in-law, Doug Gaines.
Funeral services will be on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Clark Legacy Center, Frankfort beginning at 1:00PM. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as pall bearers will be Austin Patton, Corey Patton, Izaak Stephens, Karra Whisman, Paul Harrod III and Coe Norton. Honorary pall bearers will be Megan Rivera, Wendy Couch, Jessica L. Gunnell, Jessica K. Austin, Danielle Singleton, Blain Collom, Jeffrey Whisman Jr, and Samantha Perkins.
The family requests no flowers and direct any memorial contributions to a charity of your choice in Barbara's name.
