Marlene W. Snow of Petoff Garden Apartments, Vails Mills, NY, quietly passed away on May 7, 2025, at the Wells House Rehabilitation Center in Johnstown, NY. 

 

Marlene was born at the family home in Perth on January 23, 1937, to Dorotha (Phillips) Stangle and William Stangle.

 

She was a lifelong area resident, attending schools in both Perth and Amsterdam. Marlene worked for various companies, including Inman’s, and retired from Amsterdam Printing Company in the early 2000’s.

 

In June of 1963, she married the love of her life, John Snow, enjoying 31 years together until his passing on January 8, 1994. They built a home on Stairs Road in Perth, where she resided until 2015.

 

Marlene was very involved with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department Ladies Auxiliary. A committed member of her church, Calvary Reformed in Hagaman, it was very important to her, and she regularly attended and served on many committees.

 

Besides her husband and parents, Marlene was predeceased by her half-brother, Harley Kruger; sister, Elma Francisco; nephews, Gilbert Krugger, Lyn and Wayne Francisco.

 

Marlene is survived by her nephews, Edward (Cheryl) Kruger of Perth and Daryl (Maryann) Kruger of Siloam Springs, Ak; nieces, Cindy Shear of Perth, Elda (Ed) Meehan of O’Brien, Fl and Debra Menger of Ft. White, Fl. Several great-nephews and nieces, and cousins.

 

Services for Marlene will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 12pm with Rev. Stanley Craig officiating at Calvary Reformed Church, 10 Church St. Hagaman, where a calling hour will prior to the service beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at St. Casimir Cemetery, Amsterdam.
