Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services - Ladson
Cecil Wolfe, Jr.
March 8th, 1939 - May 3rd, 2025
Cecil Wolfe Jr., affectionately known as “PaPa,” to his family and “Bo” in his younger years, passed away peacefully at his home in Cross, South Carolina, on May 3, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on March 8, 1939, in Charleston, South Carolina, Cecil was a proud son of the Lowcountry whose life was defined by love for family, a deep respect for nature, and unwavering patriotism. A veteran of the United States Navy, Cecil served his country with honor and carried that same sense of duty and pride throughout his life.Cecil was a man who found joy in the simple and enduring things: a good day outdoors, the smell of fresh cut grass, and the quiet companionship of animals. Whether hunting, fishing, boating, or working in the yard, he was happiest under an open sky. Over the years, he shared his love of the outdoors, carpentry, and firearms with his son Cecil III and grandson Lance Jr., creating memories that will be treasured for generations. His home was filled not just with family and laughter, but also with the many animals he cared for over the years—dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, and even a goose. He had a kind and generous spirit, and his presence was both grounding and comforting to those who knew him. Cecil was fiercely loyal, unshakably stubborn, and endlessly loving. He adored his wife, Betsy, and his family, and they, in turn, cherished the strength, humor, and heart he brought to their lives. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Wolfe and his six children: Cecil Wolfe III (Lorgina) of Summerton, SC; Terri Mangelinks (Joe) of Elizabeth City, NC; Lena Wolfe of North Charleston, SC; Jennifer Alexander of Penticton, British Columbia, Diana Pollitt of Aurora, IN; and Trisha Freeland (Chad) of Summerville, SC. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren; Meagan Wolfe, Micheal Wolfe, Sabrina Wolfe, Sofia Wolfe, Shiloh Wolfe, EJ Breaker, Lisa Daniels, Laura Breaker, Travis Mangelinks, Chelsea Wolfe, Dylan alexander, Lucas Alexander, Jessica, Lindsay Cofer, Julia Almond, Taylor Elrod, Lance Elrod Jr., Sara Elrod, as well as sixteen great grandchildren.Cecil was preceded in death by his parents Cecil Wolfe Sr. and Ruby Blizzard Wolfe.
A service to celebrate Cecil’s life will be held on May 31st, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet, with a graveside service to follow at Berkeley Memorial Garden. All who knew and loved Cecil are welcome to attend and honor a life well lived. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
