A native of Magna, Utah, he attended Webster Elementary School, Judge Memorial Catholic High School, the University of Utah, and Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University, Chicago. After internship in Ogden Utah, he served with the US Air Force before practicing in Portage, Wisconsin for many years. After moving to Tucson in 1979, he transitioned to Occupational Medicine, and worked for International Business Machines, and the United States Postal Service. A lifelong lover of dogs, hunting, skiing, boating, and flying his private planes, he often said “I’ve been able to do everything I wanted to. I’ve had a good life.” Chuck is survived by his second wife Susie (nee Gabriel); his sons Charles “Tucker” Grose (Grace) and Adam Grose (Gracie) and their mother Rachel Harmon; siblings Helen Mary Phillips (Joe), and Andrew John Grose; and his siblings’ marital partners Dolly (Ed), JoAnn Avery (Andy), Jeri (Doug), Diane (Doug), and Joe Phillips (Helen). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews: Christopher Grose (Janna), Lisa Moore (Jeff), Jennifer Grose, Timothy Grose (Kelley), Corri Allgier (Jim), Jean Grose, Joe Grose (Kristin), Rachel Sullivan (Ed), Douglas Grose (Ashley), Edward Grose, Jonathan Grose, Kathleen Phillips, Charles Phillips, and Meagan Phillips (Alecia), as well as many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Boyd Grose and Rhea Jean Duckworth Grose, and by his brothers Edward Joseph Grose and Douglas David Grose. Chuck will be remembered by his many friends, former colleagues, and especially his grateful patients.
