Mementos

Richard J. Wileczek, age 97 of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed peacefully as he wished at home surrounded by family on May 8, 2025. 

 

Legacy

He was born in Philadelphia on September 16,1927 to Andrew and Emily. Richard grew up in Philly with his 11 siblings. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Navy. He served proudly in WWII.

   After his time in the Navy, he worked at Montco Foods where he met his future bride and love of his life Anna whom he was married to for 56 years until her death in 2012. Together they raised 12 children in the little town of National Park, New Jersey. 

 After retirement, they relocated to New Port Richey, Florida. They spent 15 years in Florida where they found a new church, traveled, made many friends and welcomed into their home children, grandchildren, friends and extended family numerous times throughout the 15 years. They especially looked forward to their boys arriving each year for Phillies spring training.

 

Family

   After Anna’s death, Richard returned to New Jersey to be with his children and family.  Left behind to cherish his life, love, and memories are his children: Joseph (Cindy), Mary, Mark (Carolann), Teresa Hurst (Kevin), Richard (Ann), Ileen Grassetti (Steve), Stanley/Herc (Kathy), Anna Smith (Brendan), Anthony, Carolann Wileczek (Frank Daccardi), Bobby (deceased) and James (Nikki). He was also surrounded with love by 28 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.

   Richard was a devout Catholic his entire life and will be missed beyond words.

 

Farewell Tribute

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 22nd at 11:30AM in Holy Angels Parish at St. Matthew's Church, 4th & Monument Avenue, NATIONAL PARK, New Jersey.  Inurnment with Military Honors to follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, New Jersey.  In Lieu of flowers his family asks that you consider donating to a cause that was dear to Richard: Holy Angels Parish in care of: please address envelope to: St. Vincent de Paul Society 81 Cooper Street Woodbury, New Jersey 08096.
