Wilfried "Willie" Erich Nagel
February 2nd, 1942 - May 7th, 2025
Wilfried “Willie” Nagel, 83, Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Born February 2, 1942 in Silesen, Germany to Erich and Waltraud (Prohl) Nagel. Wilfried “Willie” Erich Nagel was born in the middle of World War II. He told stories of hard times with little food and how strong and resourceful his mother was to care for them on her own through the war. He began his life in America when he was 10 years old. The family worked on a sponsor’s farm until they could afford to rent their own farm in rural Edgerton in 1958. After graduating from Edgerton High School in 1962, Willie served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967. On May 5, 1973, he married the love of his life, Connie Martin. He worked for AT&T for 36 years. While working his full time “town job” he was also farming . Any precious time in between he enjoyed spending time with his family dancing, water skiing, snowmobiling, bowling, playing cards, playing chess with the grand kids, or collecting four-leaf clovers for the love of his life. Two days after their 52nd anniversary, Willie passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Willie was blessed with three children Erich (Arpakorn) Nagel, Stoughton, Heidi (Tim) O’Brien, DeForest, Jennifer (Abel) Miranda, Bailey, NC and eight grandchildren, Trace, Sean, Naomi, Israel, Aiden, Elias, Benjamin, and Emmerich and one great grandchild Remington.
He is survived by his wife Connie, Stoughton; children, grandchildren, sisters, Margrit (Raymond) Buchta, Wilmington, DE, Charlotte (Pat Burke) Nagel, Gillette, WY Ruth (Peter) Faulkner, Butternut, WI, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ulrich Nagel.
