Palmer—Anita E. Snowden, 74, passed away May 6, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center with the love of her children surrounding her.  Born October 23, 1950 in Nürnberg, Germany, she was the daughter of Edward and Renate (Girisch) Kargol.  Anita lived in Palmer for most of her life.  She worked as a secretary in the Bondsville Elementary School and later as a paraprofessional in the middle and high schools in Palmer.  Anita was a devoted wife and mother.  She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed gardening and tag sales.  In 2021, Anita was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Snowden, Sr.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Francine and Edward, Jr.  Anita's memory will be cherished by her children, Lawrence Snowden, Jr. and his wife Christine of Palmer, and Lori Claxton and her husband George of West Springfield, along with her grandson Matthew Berthiaume, great-granddaughter Violet Berthiaume, sister Alice Brach, and her nieces and nephew and their families.  Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her memory to either Shriners Hospitals for Children, https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/ or Dakin Humane Society, https://www.dakinhumane.org/.
