January 14th, 1962 - February 28th, 2025
In Loving Memory
James “Tony” Anthony Cobb was welcomed into Heaven on February 28, 2025 in West Columbia, SC. He passed away at home. Born January 14, 1962 in Richland County, SC to the late James Archibald Cobb and Lou Frances Long Cobb.
Tony grew up playing baseball and was a boy scout. He graduated from Airport High School in 1980 at the top of his class. He worked part-time at Bi-Lo while still in high school, and after graduating he enrolled in the USMC where he served six and a half years. He was in Lebanon and Beirut during Desert Storm, and received an honorable discharge in 1989. He was employed at the United States Post Office for a number of years. Due to health issues, he became unable to continue to work.
Tony loved his family and his close friends, Bill and Derek. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, Nascar racing, Carolina football, and he loved music. Tony became more than just a brother, as he gave away all three of his sisters at their weddings.
Surviving are his three sisters, Teresa Lou Cobb Stone, Tracy Lorraine Prater, and Tammy Cobb Martin; his nephews and nieces, Derris Damon Prater (Delayni), Peyton Lorraine P. Reed (Jimmy), James Evan Stone, Carli Jewel Correa (Emmanuel), Hannah Bryant Martin, and Tanner Joseph Martin; great-nephew, Noah Stone Correa; great-nieces, Elliotte Lucy Swan Prater, Wayleigh June Swan Prater, and Nora Lorraine Reed.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Flowers may be sent directly to Tony’s sister, Tracy Prater.
