Elsa Estelle (Queller) Kent, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Westminster, CO. She embraced life with kindness and devotion to family and friends, leading with her warm, radiant smile.
She was born on September 7, 1932, in St. Louis, MO to Alvin and Mary Helen Queller. She spent most of her youth in West Palm Beach, FL with her brothers, Thomas and Lester, and her most beloved sister, Alice. Marriage to Edward Kent brought the adventures of a military family, raising her six children in Maryland, Japan, and Colorado.
A devout Catholic and member of the Spirit of Christ Catholic Community in Arvada, CO, Elsa dedicated much time to her church community. In addition to purchasing bibles and meals for her church friends and others, she actively participated in the ministries Young at Heart, Blankets for Babies, KOATS for Kids, and the Rosary Makers, all of which fulfilled her desire to serve others. And it was through these activities and ministries that she developed countless treasured friendships.
Elsa had a great passion for playing board games and card games and was considered the ultimate Bunco player. Also known for her baking prowess, her cookie jar was always filled with her famous chocolate chip cookies, and her apple pies were second to none.
Elsa was preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Ed. She is survived by a loving family which includes her six children: Cathy (Bruce), Mark (Debbie), Judy, Doug (Karla), Dave, and Jo; eight grandchildren: Sarah, Tarah (Tony), Josh (Sara), Ben (Ev), Caitlin, Patrick (Lilly), Hannah (Jordan), and Jake (Lani); and ten great-grandchildren: Marcos, Daniel, Jackson, James, Edelynn, Julius,
Diego, Emilio, Violet, and Heidi. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Vigil/Rosary will be held at Spirit of Christ Chapel in Arvada, CO on Thursday May 22, 2025, at 5:30 pm. A Funeral mass will be held at Spirit of Christ Church in Arvada, CO on Friday May 23, 2025, at 11:00 am with Visitation at 10:00 am. A luncheon will immediately follow. Interment at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery will be held at 2:00 pm in the Ascension Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
