Beers and Story - Belchertown
Renee D. Soto
September 12th, 1980 - May 1st, 2025
Renee Derrick Soto, born September 12, 1980, in the Bronx, NY, passed away suddenly, in Amherst, MA, at the age of 44. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, godfather, and friend whose vibrant spirit touched many lives. Renee was the son of Desiree Soto and Cesar Ceara and the grandson of Frances Soto. He is survived by his sister Sheena Soto, his cherished nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and Godson.
Renee was raised in Co-op City in the Bronx and later attended Belchertown High School in Massachusetts, where he was known for his athletic talent, infectious smile, and kind heart. A passionate Yankees fan and a devoted follower of Jesus, Renee carried a deep love for scripture, family, and community. Despite facing lifelong challenges with mental illness, he led with love, faith, and generosity of spirit—often reminding those around him: “Don’t worry, everything is going to be okay.” His warmth, compassion, and light will live on in the many lives he touched.
