Charles "Steve" Nagle
September 21st, 1938 - May 6th, 2025
Charles Stephen Nagle, age 86, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Carnegie, PA, passed away suddenly on May 6, 2025.
Born on September 21, 1938, in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Charles Oliver Nagle and Marie Bittner Nagle. Loving and devoted husband of Elizabeth Nagle, he is also survived by a daughter Lora Vimont (Daniel), step sister Nancy John, step-daughter Lisa Kim (Brian), step-sons Bill Dubas (Julie), Gary Dubas (Kerri) and Daryl Dubas (Paula), and their grandchildren Josh Dubas (Jessica), Christine Dubas, Mel Dubas and Ryan Dubas. Steve was preceded in death by his first wife, Antoinette, and his daughter, Vickie, as well as two older sisters, Georgiana and Charlene.
Steve was a proud member of Western Pennsylvania Teamsters, serving as a driver for the national trucking companies Eazor and Univar. He took great pride in his work and made a wonderful life for his family. He was routinely acknowledged for his hard work by his employers.
Although his parents wanted him to be an engineer, he chose a different path, marrying and starting a family at a young age. He was “good with his hands”, constructing many things around the home. It always seemed that he was the one that extended family and neighbors called upon to build and fix things, because he was the guy who could do it. In an age before the Internet, he got his hands on “how to” books, through which he acquired a broad array of practical construction and repair skills.
Steve’s life passion was sports. He loved playing basketball in high school, and carried sporting activities through his life with tennis, softball, golf, pool, and pickleball. In later years, he received recognition for a Hole in One at the Arizona Traditions golf course, as well as an award for excellence in pickleball in the Arizona Senior Olympics.
In the latter part of his life in Phoenix, he got into motorcycles, hot-tubbing, and poker. But his highest priority was taking care of Elizabeth and spending quality time with her. He loved his family and his life very much, and he will be greatly missed by all.
Family and friends will be received at a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at FALCONER FUNERAL HOME, 251 W. Juniper Ave., Gilbert, AZ.
