Angela Sharon Jordan
April 6th, 1955 - April 18th, 2025
Angela Sharon Jordan, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 70. Whether you knew her as Sharon, Angela, Sis, Shar, or too many lovingly known as Nannie; if you knew her you were sure to have felt loved.
Angela was born on April 6th, 1955 in Marlboro, South Carolina to Elizabeth Virginia Grant. Although she never knew her biological father, she found unwavering comfort and guidance in the father figure in her life Lonnie. As the eldest of seven siblings, Angela was placed into the role of caretaker early on in life and was always worrying for others and found her greatest comfort in being close to family.
A woman of steadfast faith, Angela was a devoted Christian whose life was defined by love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She attended Northwest Tampa Church of God and often helped out with the children in the Sunday school classes. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Wayne, whom she missed dearly every single day since he left her side 10 years ago. The family is at peace knowing not only that she is living an eternal life in Heaven but also that she is with her honey.
Angela’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. She is survived by her three sons, who were her world, Terry (Staci) Jordan, Michael (Andrea) Jordan, and Shannon (Trisha) Jordan, by her 11 cherished grandchildren—each of whom she adored and doted on endlessly; Ashton, Colton, Gina, Cayden, Chazton, Michael, Peyton, Shailyn, Brielle, Annsley, and Breylin. She also was greeted in Heaven by her brother Micheal, while she leaves behind five siblings Janice (John) Gilly, Teresa White, Lonnie Gillespie, Tina (Carl) Scott, and Shane (Lisa) Gillespie, and a large, loving circle of friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
For many years Angela worked as a devoted housekeeper and poured her heart into being a loving wife and hands-on mother. She never missed a sporting event, cheering the loudest from the stands, and would have done absolutely anything for her boys. That same fierce love carried through to her grandchildren—Nannie was famous for her warm, unforgettable hugs and her signature scent that lingered long after a visit. Her grandkids still smile when they say, “It smells like Nannie.” Angela loved celebrating every holiday surrounded by her grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, joy, and a little bit of mischief. She embraced every opportunity for adventure—whether it was making silly videos, snapping selfies with family, sharing a good joke on social media, enjoying the newest Disney movie, or getting her first tattoo. A talented home cook, her famous fried potatoes and creamy baked mac-and-cheese were legendary in the family—comfort food that no one will ever quite replicate.
Angela had a deep and abiding love for animals, and her home was never without the comforting presence of a beloved dog or cat. Her pets were more than companions—they were family. After her boys grew up and left home, her animals became her babies, filling her days with affection, loyalty, and unconditional love. She treated each one with tender care, often talking to them as if they were her children. Angela especially cherished quiet moments spent napping, often curled up with a furry friend or a grandchild by her side.
One of her greatest passions was Elvis Presley. Angela was his biggest fan and proudly collected all things Elvis—from records and movies to coins, stamps, and memorabilia. Her love for him was so deep that her youngest grandchild was given the middle name Presley in honor of her passion for his music and love for the name.
Angela also loved taking photos with the people she loved—so much so, it was nearly impossible to find a picture of her alone. She was happiest in the middle of her people, surrounded by love, laughter, and memories.
Her giving spirit, warm embrace, and joyful presence will be missed beyond words—for she was taken too soon. Though our hearts ache in her absence we find comfort in the countless memories she gave us and know she will live on through sharing these stories with others. A celebration of Angela’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made in her name to AnimalLuvrs Dream Rescue https://animalluvrs.org/
