Eva R. Thompson
January 11th, 1940 - May 11th, 2025
Eva R. Thompson, born on January 11, 1940, in Melba, Idaho, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, in Bryon, Georgia. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and warmth. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Eva's life and cherish her memory during a memorial visitation on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory.
Throughout her life, Eva proudly embraced her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself to her family and nurturing an environment filled with love and respect. Her strong Christian faith and membership in the Mormon Church guided her principles and positively influenced those around her. An avid genealogist, Eva spent much of her time tracing family histories and sharing those stories with her family, fostering a deep sense of connection to her roots.
Eva grew up in Washington state, where she met and married her husband, and was a devoted Navy spouse. She enjoyed many passions, including reading and connecting with her family through history and stories, which added richness to her relationships.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Harris Thompson, and her daughters, Melinda Smalley and Donna Thompson. She was also preceded by her parents, Jabez and Verrill Richardson, as well as seven siblings and three great-grandchildren—Savannah Scott, Christopher Hearing, and Austin Hearing. Eva is survived by her devoted daughter, Georgia Thompson, along with her cherished grandchildren: Robert Thompson, Angela Scott, Gene Davidson, Jessica Smith, Alishia Glenn, Dakota Hearing, and Dustin Hearing. Additionally, she leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren and her sister, Hazie Nelson, who all carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
In this time of grief, let us remember Eva for her unwavering spirit, her nurturing heart, and the countless joyful moments she gifted to us all. May her legacy live on through the love she shared and the lives she touched.
