Darren Matthew “Derb” Wren, 39, passed away from an epileptic seizure on May 1, 2025, in Kuna, Idaho. Born on December 15, 1985, in Moscow, Idaho, Darren brought love and happiness to those around him throughout his life.
Darren spent over two decades working at Smokey Mountain Pizza, where his dedication and presence became a familiar and cherished part of the community. His long-standing commitment to his work reflected his reliability and the strong connections he built with those he encountered.
He was raised with Catholic values and found meaning in attending Mass. These spiritual roots were an important part of his life and identity.
Darren had a wide range of interests that brought him happiness and helped define who he was. He was an avid bowler and proudly participated in bowling events for the Special Olympics. He also practiced karate for several years. A passionate reader, Darren especially enjoyed exploring Roman history and World War II narratives. His love for superheroes was unwavering—Wolverine held a special place in his heart, but Batman remained his all-time favorite. He delighted in old TV shows and action-packed films featuring Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, as well as video games that sparked his imagination. Darren loved to joke around and even though he wasn't always the best at it he would put a smile on your face.
Darren is lovingly remembered by his father, Greg Wren, and stepmother, Irene Wren; mother, Deena Chambers, and stepfather, Phil Chambers; siblings: Caitlen Schaefer, brother-in-law Matt Schaefer, Levi Wren, Mckenzie Wren; niece Addie Schaefer, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Twila Hornbeck, as well as Jerry and Marianne Wren.
May Darren’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire the joy he so freely shared. A Funeral Mass will be held on May 20, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, rosary preceding at 9:30 AM at St Paul's Catholic Church, 510 W Roosevelt Avenue, Nampa, ID. Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
