Robert Edward Luger of Sun City, Arizona, passed away on March 21, 2025, after a short experience with dementia. 

 

Robert was born November 27, 1943, at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, to parents Robert Luger and Mary F. Luger. 

 

Robert graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1962. He was then drafted into the Army and served for three years as a general’s chauffeur. After being discharged from the army, he joined a machinist apprenticeship program at Western Electric, where his father worked. He worked for Western Electric, which became AT&T, for 27 years and retired in 1987.

 

Robert met his wife, Beverly, in 1967, and they married six months later on November 18. They had their son, Robert Wilson Luger, in 1971 and their daughter, Betty Louise Luger, in 1973.

 

Robert was predeceased by his father, Robert; mother, Mary; sister, Margaret; and cousin/brother, Fred. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Robert; daughter, Betty; grandchildren Stephan, Zackery, Juanita, Lindsay, and Brooke; and great-grandchildren Brody, Zoey, and Wyatt.

 

A private service held at Shepherd of the Desert Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sun City, Arizona, on June 15, 2025, at noon.
