Charles "Chuck" LeRoy Hanson
February 16th, 1937 - April 19th, 2025
....traveling and spending time with family was his greatest joy....
Charles (Chuck) LeRoy Hanson, son of Henry and Gladys Hanson was born in 1937 in Sentinel Butte, North Dakota. As a child, he moved with his family to Montana. Chuck graduated from High School in Hamilton, Montana. There he met his first wife, Gail Severns. They were married and had three daughters.
In 1966, Chuck, Gail, and the girls moved to Maywood, Illinois to attend Missionary School at the Lutheran School of Theology in preparation for service in Liberia, West Africa. After returning to the United States, Chuck and his family moved to California where he took a job as Business Manager for Vesper Memorial Hospital in San Leandro. The final twenty plus years of his career were spent in management for EBMUD (East Bay Municiple Utility District) in the Bay Area.
In 1980, Chuck married Sylvia Lemmons. Their last years together were spent in Gig Harbor, Washington. Chuck was a faithful member of Sunset Bible Church in Tacoma, Washington where he continued to serve the church. In retirement, traveling and spending time with family was his greatest joy.
Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Hanson. Survivors include his daughters, sons-in-law, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his four younger brothers.
